Match Report
Ashville Harrogate Girls-U15A vs  Stockport Grammar School
On: Friday, 13 Oct 2017
Venue: Away

In a highly physical contest Ashville travelled to Stockport for the first round of the ISNC. It took a while to adjust and settled into their rhythm in the first quarter as the ball was given away cheaply by both sides. The play was end to end and often both teams managed to intercept the final ball into the circle. At the end of the first quarter Ashville had their noses ahead 8-6. The second quarter saw more dominance from Ashville who worked the ball up the court with precision and pace. Sophie Barker-Field controlled the pace of play around the circle edge and fed the ball for Ella Whiting and Alice Watson. At half time Ashville had pressurised the opposition turned over possession on numerous occasions and therefore extended their lead to 12-8. The second half was all one way traffic from Ashville. Olivia Pringle and Emily Waller endured a highly physical context in circle defence and forces the errors from the opposition. Ashville maintained their high level of energy throughout and continued to grind down the opposition with Ella and Alice continuing to keep the score ticking over.

At the end of the match Ashville had broken the target of 50 and prevented Stockport from scoring in the final quarter. A superb match where the whole team contributed to a successful performance- well played.
