Sports Summary

The girls faced Queen Margaret's in their opening hockey fixture. The pre-season work was evident as many of our teams played some nice hockey across the age groups and even in those who lost, there are many positive signs. The gap between the teams was much closer this year and the standout performance came from our year 10s who were one nil winners but were very dominant.

On the rugby pitches we faced Pocklington. The First XV made strides forward and only lost out to a team with much greater size, a similar thread to the 2nd team and under 15s. Our year 7 , 8 and 9 teams won 5 out of 6 matches.

Across both sports there were nearly 250 pupils taking part and some highly impressive performances. Special mention goes to the debutants Alvaro Rodriguez and Hugo Fernandez de la Riva in their first ever taste of rugby and to Francesca Goldthorp on the hockey pitch.
